FULFILLING YOUR PURPOSE

Have you ever taken time to ever consider what life is all about or why human beings exist? These are critical questions that some philosophers who think they are wise try to answer with human wisdom. This fact cannot be elaborated with mere human wisdom, you need to ask the inventor of all humanity Himself. When you see a new invention, you discover its purpose by reading the user manual or interviewing the inventor, it’s the same for human beings, we are a very powerful invention by God, to determine our purpose, you will need to make reverence to the Bible or communicate with God. Anything that is created has a particular purpose it was meant for. For example, a car was created to make transportation easier, a cell phone was created for making calls, a house was created for the purpose of providing shelter. This similar principle applies to human beings. As far as we are created, we are created to exist for a purpose. It is this major purpose that I want to highlight in this context.

 Imagine you created a cell phone for making calls and you created a user manual on how your invention (cell phone) should work and gave the phone free will, but eventually, the phone decided not to make calls and started cursing people over the phone all by itself. The phone did not only decide to break-off from the purpose you created it for but also decided to create its own purpose. Let me ask you one simple question; as the manufacturer, what would you do to the phone? (write down your answer in the comment section below). I solemnly suggest you would destroy the phone and invent another, this is the same thing that is awaiting mankind because many have been deceived and many have moved from the major purpose that our Great inventor created us for. There is one hard truth you should digest; many people will land in Hell, not because they committed fornication, adultery or lied but because they did not use their gifts and talents and other investments God made in them to fulfill the purpose given to them by their Creator, just like I’m sure you would destroy the misbehaving cell phone because it is not fulfilling its primary purpose of making calls.

‘Then I said, “Look, I have come to do your will, O God, as it is written about me in the Scripture”.‘

HEBREWS 10:7 (NLT Bible)

This is Jesus speaking, He was speaking about the things written about Him in the scriptures. Everyone has his destiny written about him in the scriptures just like it was written about Jesus. The purpose of every man is divided into 70% and 30%. Every person on earth share a common 70% purpose which is preaching the Word of God and raising great disciples. The other 30% is a special purpose God sent you to handle personally (only you can solve it, if you don’t, it will remain like that forever).

‘After saying all this things, Jesus looked up to Heaven and said, “……………..I BROUGHT GLORY TO YOU HERE ON EARTH BY COMPLETING THE WORK YOU GAVE ME TO DO……….”.’

JOHN 17:1-5 (NLT Bible)

This is Jesus talking about the first phase of His work which was raising powerful disciples that would take over His ministry. If you continue in verse 6, you will hear Jesus say, “I have revealed you to the ones you gave me from this world”. He completed the first phase (70%) of His work and was ready to enter the other phase which was for Him to die because of man’s sins in order to redeem mankind. You should not be scared of completing your purpose because God has given everyone a special ability to make you very effective in completing your purpose; some people have the gift of healing, some are very beautiful, some are very intelligent etc. This are special gifts and investments given to you to aid you to make your evangelism easier for you, if you don’t use this gifts, you will pay dearly for it in Hell just like the servant with one talent went to Hell not because he committed fornication, adultery, robbery etc but because he did not use that one talent to make profit, which is adding disciples to the kingdom of God.

‘“Again the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone (this are the talents or gifts given to you for raising disciples). He gave five bags of silver to one, two bags of silver to another, and one bag of silver to the last – dividing it in proportion to their abilities. He then left on his trip.

The servant who received the five bags of silver began to invest the money and earned 5 more. The servant with 2 bags of silver also went to work and earned 2 more (the work here is raising people for Christ which is a mandatory work for everyone. They used their talents to disciple people and add more souls to the Kingdom). But the servant who received the one bag of silver dug a hole in the ground and hid the master’s money (if you are not using your gifts, no matter how small you think it is, you are in deep trouble).

After a long time their master returned from his trip and called them to give an account of how they used his money (just like rapture will happen or you might die now and have to face the lord in all His wrath of judgment if you have not started using your gifts and talents to disciple people). The servant to whom he had entrusted the 5 bags of silver came forward with 5 more bags and said, ‘Master, you gave me five bags of silver to invest, and I earned five more.

The master was full of praise. ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’

The servant who had received the 2 bags of silver came forward and said, ‘Master, you gave me 2 bags of silver to invest, and I have earned 2 more.’

The master said, ’Well done my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!’

Then the servant with the one bag of silver came and said, ‘Master, I knew you were a harsh man, harvesting crops you didn’t plant and gathering crops you didn’t cultivate. I was afraid I would lose your money, so I hid it in the earth (don’t make a mistake to enter eternity without using your gifts for your purposes because you will pay for that investment in Hell).

But the master replied, ‘You wicked and lazy servant! If you knew I harvested crops I didn’t plant and gathered crops I didn’t cultivate, why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank? At least I would have gotten some interest on it.’

Then he ordered, ‘Take the money from this servant, and give it to the one with ten bags of silver. To those who use well what they were given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away. NOW THROW THIS USELESS SERVANT INTO OUTER DARKNESS, WHERE THERE WILL BE WEEPING AND GNASHING OF TEETH.’

MATTHEW 25:14-30 (NLT Bible)

Do you now see why I said many will go to Hell not because the committed fornication or any other sin, but because they did not use their gifts and talents to fulfill their purposes on earth (I hope you have written down your answer concerning the misbehaving cell phone in the comment section, if not, please do now).

You won’t have anyone to blame for not fulfilling your purpose, Hell is not a joke. Take time and consider this; ‘you wake up 6:00am, go to work by 8:00am and work in your company or do business till 10:00pm forgetting the major business God sent you to do on earth, you sleep and continue this cycle every day. All this things matter for only the few years you will be on earth (maybe 86years), why not start doing things to secure the future of your eternity. Eternity is not a matter of 1000 years, it is forever, a billion years will pass and counting and it will never seize. Maybe you don’t know what Hell is; “it is better to take a thousand bullets into your body than to end up in Hell”.

“And as they go out, they will see the dead bodies of those who have rebelled against me. For the worms that devour them will never die, and the fire that burns them will never go out. All who pass by will view them with utter horror.”

ISAIAH 66:24 (NLT Bible)

Hell is more real than the chair you may probably be sitting on right now. Many people don’t like believing this fact until they end up in Hell and it all becomes too late. If you are reading this post, blessed are your eyes and your ears for hearing this message. Don’t let anyone deceive you that preaching and discipleship is only meant for pastors, this is a brutal lie, if you make the mistake to believe that lie, it may land you in Hell. Jesus came and told His disciples, “I have been given all authority in Heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations……..”

MATTHEW 28:18 (NLT Bible)

Jesus never said, “don’t preach and disciple people, it is for only pastors”. You are not supposed to die unless you have raised 12 disciples like Jesus did; people who will continue your ministry. Who are this disciples? These are people you take time to teach and mould them as they are gradually transformed into the image of Christ.

Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do…..

EPHESIANS 5:1 (NLT Bible)

We are all looking up to Jesus, imitating him in everything. That scripture did not say somethings but everything. Just as Jesus raised 12 disciples, you are required to also do same before you even think about entering eternity. Apostle Paul raised his own disciples, as he finished his work and was about to die, see what he wrote to one of his disciples, Timothy: TIMOTHY 4:1-8

I solemnly urge you in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when He comes to set up His kingdom. Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching……..

Why is Paul so concerned in preaching? It is because he knows it is mandatory for everyone to preach the word of God and raise disciples.

…………For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths…….

This is very true, some Churches don’t even preach about evangelism, many have abandoned the truth and are chasing after all sort of false stories. I personally ministered to someone and told him about Hell, he replied that Hell will only exist for a moment and then vanish. This is not Scriptural, the Bible says Hell will last forever so where did this person get this wrong info of Hell from? Evangelism is a must for everyone exception of non, Heaven does not compromise their standards for any being. If you make a mistake of not obeying the truth the Bible speaks, when you face Christ wrath of judgment, you won’t need someone to tell you the truth anymore.

……….But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you…….

Paul just said it again, “work at telling others the Good News”. Like I said before, you are not permitted to enter eternity without fulfilling this purpose, it is after you have fulfilled the purposes God sent you to accomplish on earth that you are to be highly welcomed into full glory.

……..As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God………

What do you pour out your life for, is it your business, family, money? If you are not ready to let go of everything for the Kingdom even at the stake of your own life, you are not fit for the Kingdom. You must be ready to pour out everything in you for the Kingdom just as Christ did, remember, as Christians, we are followers of Christ not man-made doctrines aimed at deceiving people. Christianity is a Living force not a religion.

……….The time of my death is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful………

What does Paul mean by, “I have finished the race”? He meant he has completed his purpose on earth and was ready to return to Heaven. When Paul finished his mission on earth, the Holy-Ghost revealed to him that it was time to return to Heaven which is why Paul said, “The time of my death is near”. This is how it is meant to be for everyone, if you are living in track with God’s will and fulfilling your purposes, at the end, the Lord reveals to you it’s time to come home to Heaven. If you don’t preach, the inevitable awaits you which is why Paul said, “…..How terrible if I don’t preach the Good News!” 1 Corinthians 9:16. Paul knew that something bad awaits those who don’t fulfill this purpose of preaching and raising disciples which is why he said, “how terrible for me if I don’t preach.”

……..And now the prize awaits me, the CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, which the Lord, the righteousness judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to His appearing.

The good part about preaching is that you will be rewarded in Heaven with a Crown. If you decide not to work for God and preach the word of God, you may still enter Heaven, but you won’t have a house in Heaven not to consider even getting a crown. Did the Bible say so? YES. Some people will make Heaven but it will be all shameful, it will be as if fire burnt their clothes and they will live in Heaven in a long hall with many others with their clothes looking burnt. You need to study about people that have died, gone to Heaven and come back, you will see that as you work for God, the angels are laying the foundations and building your home in Heaven, if you don’t preach and fulfill the purposes God has dedicated unto you, you will enter Heaven shamefully as someone that fire just burnt their clothes.

The quality of your work on earth determines the type of materials the angels will use to build your house in Heaven. Will your work come out as gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay or straw. If you don’t work hard, your work may come out as wood, hay or straw—works of wood, hay or straw may not survive the fire of God and you may suffer great loss (entering heaven as someone with burnt clothes)

Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials; gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay or straw. But on judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work a builder has done. The fire will show if the person’s work has any value. If the work survives, the builder will receive a reward. But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, BUT LIKE SOMEONE BARELY ESCAPING THROUGH A WALL OF FLAMES.

1 CORINTHIANS 3:12-15 (NLT Bible)

Please don’t be confused, it is not the amount of work you do that will guarantee you Heaven, it is God’s mercy to you as a genuine born-again Christian that guarantees you Heaven (please if you want to become born-again, read my post on The Fall and Redemption of man). The work therefore is what determines your reward in Heaven. Some people may enter Heaven without even a handkerchief on their head while those that work will wear beautiful CROWNS on their head.

The summary of this article is that we have a particular purpose on earth, no one is a mistake birth. The first purpose which comprises of 70% total of your purpose on earth is to preach and raise disciples for Christ. The remaining 30% covers a particular issue in life that God had sent you personally with that trust for you to deliver a solution to that problem. You can identify such responsibilities personally assigned to you from God in the place of prayer, visions or through a prophecy. This is why you have all your gifts and talents and some other investments that God has made in you to aid you fulfill this purposes completely, when done, you will return to Heaven in full glory and not like someone that fire just burnt his clothes.

“Dear God, I now know I’m on earth not by mistake, but to fulfill the various purposes you have assigned to me, I have discovered that one of my purposes is to preach and raise disciple but I don’t know the others, Lord please reveal to me all the things you sent me to earth to do, Lord please also reveal to me my gifts and talents and every investment you have made in me to help me fulfill my purposes in JESUS NAME.AMEN

May the grace of our Lord Jesus be with you in Jesus name. Amen
